Texas A&m Shooting, One Dead, Five Wounded

Early this afternoon there was a shooting near Texas A&M. One dead and five others have been wounded.

Shortly after noon shots were fired from a nearby home near the campus of Texas A&M at Campus Station on Monday, August 13, 2012. At this time the suspect is in custody and there is no danger to the public. But sadly, one officer has died from gun shot wounds and five others, including another officer have been wounded.

The shooter fired shots from automatic weapons from inside the home resident. It is not known at this time why the shooter fired or if there is more than one person involved in the case. It is being investigated by police officers and security for Texas A&M.

The shooting occurred near the Highlands and Fidelity Streets In College Station, just south of George Bush Drive and east of the Presidential Library and Museum. Three of the wounded were admitted to area hospitals. Updates will follow as soon as more information if known.
